Kevin Goodman has lived in Lawrence County for over ten years with his wife, Luiza, and two daughters.

After completing high school, Kevin briefly attended IUPUI. After dropping out, Kevin spent a good portion of his adult life working as a laborer, painter and maintenance man before returning back to school to earn a bachelor’s degree in business management from Western Governors University. As Kevin neared the completion of his bachelor’s degree he considered a career in higher education.

Kevin went on to pursue an interdisciplinary master’s degree in social psychology and communication at Skidmore College and completed graduate courses  at Indiana University and Harvard University through a consortium agreement. Kevin then pursued a 2nd master’s degree in criminal justice and criminology from the University of Massachusetts and was inducted into Alpha Phi Sigma, the Criminal Justice Honor Society.

For a period of about two years, Kevin was a candidate for a covert position with the Central Intelligence Agency’s Clandestine Service (Directorate of Operations).

Kevin served Lawerence County and the State of Indiana as a child protection investigator / Family Case Manager from April, 2015 to July, 2021. During this time, Kevin worked closely with local law enforcement and regularly testified in court on behalf of the State regarding child welfare investigations. Kevin’s experience with State bureaucracy is his single biggest motivator for pursuing the nomination for State Representative (District 65) and is also the reason why he has very clear changes he would like to make to ensure accountability of the civil service.

Kevin is passionate about physical fitness and an avid trail runner and hiker. He’s also a passionate dog owner and trainer. He and his wife have two dobermans and two dachshunds.

Kevin is qualified and passionate! If elected, he vows to support and propose sensible legislation that holds government accountable and creates opportunity and protections for working Hoosiers, and promotes and protects small businesses.
